I have two 622 receivers. Both receivers have software version L441.

I noticed that the Skip Back and Rewind does not work when viewing Channel 9486. When you hit the rewind the current frame will freeze and the time indicator will show the time that the channel has been active. When you hit play you return to Live TV. Skip Back does the same thing.

At first, I thought that this was due to my use of external storage. However, the Skip Back and Rewind work fine on other channels.

What is different about Channel 9486?

I've never had occasion to watch Family Room. The channel switched from MPEG2 (ViP only) to MPEG4 on 8/30. Is that when the problem started?

9480 FILMFEST and 9486 FAMILY Channel's Problem

9480 FILMFEST and 9486 FAMILY channel, the 'Skip Back', 'Skip Forward', 'Pause' are not working right, is everybody experiencing the same thing. Its like the 'Copy Flag' is set to never

Possibly. I know I recorded "Breakheart Pass" off FilmF a week or so ago and it plays fine but I've tried to record "RobRoy" twice now (last night and 4am today) and neither recording would allow any kind of playback.

Just as a test, FilmF is set to run "Rob Roy" again in about half an hour. Would someone else try to record at least some of it and see if they have the same problem.

Just tried to record a clip...no luck...shows 0 recording time...
I ran through a test completing about a half hour ago after seeing similar posts elsewhere. All the other HD stations I get are working correctly. But Family(9486) and 9480(FilmFest) are not working. As someone else said, acts like the record never flag is set.

I don't normally watch Family, but probably missed some recordings on FilmFest that I failed to note.

Yep. Sure sounds like they're testing DRM stuff, and showing providers that they can kill the commercial skip feature we all love. FF isn't the same. I guess they can defeat that, too.

Killing the ability to skip unwanted commercials will simply reduce the programs I watch. Some aren't worth putting up with commercials for.

Its not just commercial skip. No recording's working and no buffer are working on these channels.

Exactly! Maybe somebody could call Dish and ask in behalf of numerous members of the satelliteguys board why functionality is severely impaired on those particular channels, and NO it's not broken equipment, and NO it's not corrected by a reboot in all this cases.:D

I mean what if somebody wanted to record a show on one of these channels? This is what you got a DVR for in the first place. And you pay for the service. It is irrelevant what's on the channels, if you like the content or not. Fact is you can't utilize the function you pay for.

Maybe Scott can tell us if he's heard (or put a query into one of his sources and find out) if this is just an isolated glitch that will be fixed soon or if it is indeed testing of the "no copy - ever" software that Dish is being paid to implement.

Since they're both Voom channels, is there a way to bypass Dish and get an answer from them.

Come on folks, stop jumping to conclusions and worrying like old ladies. The what or why is not known. Don't start inventing ones.

DIsh 1000 or Dish 1000.2

Three 622's??
