Hummm, there's more than just Facebook down right now. So, a hub may have gone down. Maybe some fiber got cut somewhere again... Checked isitdownrightnow and even they don't come up.

The fundamental issue, Mursch says—and other experts agree—is that Facebook has withdrawn the so-called Border Gateway Protocol route that contains the IP addresses of its DNS nameservers.
Fakebook is back up and running. Not sure about the rest.
