Sinclair stations set to go dark on 9/27

With your ANTENNA ?
Why would you be seeing this ?

Unless its on the Channels call to obstruct your viewing.
Which game are you trying to watch ?

The channels are running the crawl preemptively. All viewers see it, regardless of if they are OTA, Cable, Dish or DirecTV.

IMHO,

- Tennis Channel is certainly a niche broadcast, and, like most single sport channels, the best of that sport is found on the more general sports channels.

- However, TC has a new lease on life. According to some reports, tennis is now the #2 gambled sport, as it is played almost continuously both in clock and calendar terms. The time between each point is long enough for in game betting.

- Sinclair is evil.

- My bet is on “Diamond Sports” being the branding for the former Fox Sports Net.

Yeah, I'm a Dish subscriber but moving to Birmingham, AL due to a job change. While my wife stays behind to sell the house, I'm in a nice extended stay apartment complex and was pleased to see I had cable with a DVR: ATT UVerse. Better than the cable you get in, for example, a hotel room. Been here two weeks.

Then I see the scroll on the ABC station, ATT/Directv is going to take this channel away this coming Friday (27th.) Argh. I cannot get away from channel blackouts. I've been a sat subscriber since my first sub to Directv back in 1995, and it seems the last 5 years have been non-stop blackouts and hostage taking no matter whether it's Dish, Directv, etc.

You would think that it would run to just those that would be effected ...
Not technically possible, unless there are separate feeds. Most satellite and cable providers just take the OTA feed.

In Birmingham, it will effect not only ABC, but CW and the MyNet station as well. Sinclair has a triopoly in the Birmingham market.
