Signal at 96 then O-HELP

Moved my motor home, tried to setup DirecTV, got a good 85 to 96 signal for appx 30 seconds then it drops to 0. It does the same thing regardless if I use my rooftop KVH-sf dome or the ground tripod. Tech told me maybe static in line, removed the line and grounded, same thing, changed the cable, same thing? reset the recvr, unplugged the recvr, removed the card, all the stuff the Direct techs tell you to do. what does it sound like to you guys?

Is it doing it on all sats/transponders, or just one sat?

It could be backfeed from your power outlet, or it could be a failing receiver.

Or a bad LNB or Multiswitch, if you have one.

Like IWC said : Do you happen to have a different rec. that you could swap out and see if the trouble still exist ?
You probably don't have a spare LNB.

I thought about the bad LNB, but just assumed he was using a different one when he went from his KVH-sf dome to the tripod mount.

You make a good point ....
How about a bad coax connection, I had that same problem with my Dad's set up last year till I got there.

It's possible that he has two bad cables, but he said he tried another cable. I'm curios as to what the voltages coming out of the receiver are.

Today as I had the signal strength screen on (with 0 signal) I heard voices in the background, I exited the setup screen and there was a channel on. so at this pint I am apparently getting DirecTV, this is the first time this has ever happened. Since I was getting the same result on the rooftop dish and the tripod mounted dish with differant LNB's I have to assume it is something common to both sources, with the weird way it started acting I am assuming the recvr is getting ready to fly the coop.
