Rep was nice and was able to get the new card activated. I got confused as when it asked for the card # I typed it in but it showed as S####### then the last 4 so I retyped it in :eek:

But it looks like we're up and running. Just have to redo a check switch to force a guide to get locals to pop in
 
WOW Glad things worked out for ya through chat. The American angel's must have been looking out for me when I called Dish today. Had a nasty power surge early this morning and pretty much fried everything. Called Dish to let them know what was happening and to my shock talked to Brittany who was actually here in the states. 5 minutes on the phone and replacement RCVR is on it's way... CC
 
what was interesting is at the end the rep told me I could sell the 311 on Ebay or craigslist.

Well the receiver is dead anyway so thats a moot point ;)

I do give her an A+ for informing me there was no change to the bill because the 322 is the primary receiver. She mentioned if I got another 322 to replace a 301/311 the bill would go up $7 unless I changed it to replace 2 of the receivers.
 
In Talking with Dish CSR'S lately, accents seem to be the rule. I thought DISH had Americanized, but maybe not.
When DISH first started outsourcing and it wasn't going well, I had a conversation with a rep at the CEO's office and was told all I had to do, and to do it, was ask for American Tech Support and they have to transfer you. I have only had one time where the person said they couldn't and I called them a liar and asked for their supervisor. Next thing I know I'm talking to a kid in Arkansas or there abouts. I told him of my rep problems and he assured me, with his Southern accent that I indeed had American support. And then he took very good care of me and we were done in no time and he told me to tell everyone just to ask for American Tech Support.

I do it every time I have to call. Although, I do try to give whomever I get the opportunity to make it work. It is too easy to tell when it's going pear shaped, that's when I stop the conversation and ask for American TS. This includes online chats.

P.S.
And as I have mentioned before, my ex-DISH tech buddy told me that it was going to get worse. That was one of the reasons for him leaving. He got tired of having to face irate customers. And being a Field Supervisor, he had personal contact.
