Which is why I keep harping on this issue... With the various workarounds, all of which are problematic and not 100% reliable, Dish has left us with an essentially unreliable and risky feature that we've all paid extra to use and that's now almost unusable because of it's unreliability.
Nearly 4 months now that they've known about this issue and what's the "official" workaround? Reboot after every EHD-viewed program...and even that isn't 100% foolproof!
If we had to reboot our computers after every program we ran, would Microsoft be the company it is today? (not that I have any great love for Microsoft either...)
The only reason this issue isn't raising a huge storm is that it 1) doesn't affect every Dish sub and 2) we subs that use it aren't paying a monthly fee for the "feature". If we were paying a monthly fee for the ability to achieve and view from the EHDs, we'd all be screaming at them to get this fixed, and we wouldn't be 4 months into this mess. Dish can (essentially) ignore it because not everyone is reporting/telling them about it and since it's not considered a "critical function" by them, they'll get to when they feel like it...
