I can't find Galaxy 18 on the Satellite list on the receiver but there is a Galaxy 10R 123.0W and from reading, I assume it used to be called that and now it's Galaxy 18.

I'm using the old Primestar LNB vertical only

Anyone know the skew? Which way?

I've got a 1.2 meter Primestar dish pointing at 129° and was using it for DN HD but no more. So I just have to bump it over 6° to get to 123 (right?)

There are a couple questions the receiver wants to know that I have not seen before.

Here's the list

Satellite Galaxy 10R 123.0W
LNB Power On ?
LNB Type Universal ?
LNB High ????
LNB Low ????
TP Freq ????
DiSEqC None
Motor None

What's the LNB High LNB Low ?

Is there a place/way to look this up so I don't have to bug?

What's a good strong Freq to set this on for dish pointing?

TIA

correct

ok...good to know

check thelist at top...you can put in your zip and it gives skew. If you are standing in fronto fo the dish facing it unless you are on the west coast the skew would be turned counterclockwise...oh wait the P* LNB says + - skew ;)

of that is the setup it would be this
G10
ON
SINGLE/STANDARD
10750
10750
11720 V 27692 (active transponder to aim the dish at)
NONE (unless you have a diseqc switch involved)
NONE

What's the LNB High LNB Low ?
some satellites there is a low and hi band but that is mainly over Europe & Atlantic ocean. The P* LNB Is a standard so both are set to 10750

ask away...no question "too stupid"

What's a good strong Freq to set this on for dish pointing?

TIA

posted above...either 11720 V 27692 (freq/polarity/symbol rate) or 12114 V 4340

Hooray!

89% signal 77% quality

G10R
LNB On
LNB Type Standard
LNB Freq 10750
22KHz Off
TP Freq 11720
Search Option FTA
DisEqC 1.0 None
Motor Off

Viewsat Platinum with stock Primestar 1.2 meter dish and LNB

Had to change LNBs once
Looks like I have about 33 channels

The 1.2m Primestar is usually a good answer, no matter what the question. - :up

Not sure if you have a spare, or if you'd like PBS over on 125°, but ya might give it a thought.
Also, WescoPC's thread on getting both on one dish might be interesting to ya.
If so, pay particular attention to my post which links to the AMC-21 thread, for LNB spacing at different locations in the country.
But as I suggested, if you have a spare 1.2m Primestar, that's the easy way out. ;)
