Due to a hard drive failure there will be a server outage tonight so that we can replace the failed drive. SatelliteGuys will be unavailable as of 7PM ET – 4PM PT and will be offline for approximately 2 hours as we do a backup and install the new hard drive. Thank you for your understanding!

All Done...

Lots of work was done...

We upgraded the version of Apache.
Updated the version of php
We backed up all the databases to the web server
Did other misc. backend software updates.

Swapped out the bad hard drive.
New Hard Drive is checking out ok and the mirror is 83% rebuilt now. (Still rebulding)

Plus we upgraded to vBulletin 3.8 Release (We were running a beta)

It was a busy 2 hours. :D

Any new things with this new version of VBulletin?

What about php and Apache? So those update were on the Web Server not the Database server right?

Scott, I like your humor. When I logged on and saw the main message that the site was down but would be back before Dish adds new HD-good shot! Paul

Did you push the Red Button?

I told you not to push the red button. ;)

The drive array has finished rebuilding now it is verifying the raid and is currently at 4%. Speed will be a little better when that is all done.

We don't have Hot swap drives. In addition we had other work to do to the servers which I outlined above. :)

Everything seems to be running good time for me to go to bed. :D

It was good to get the other work out of the way while the site was down to make the improvements.
