It goes without saying that not everything is listed on Lyngsat. In fact, some of my most enjoyable recent experiences with c-band are on channels listed on Lyngsat as encrypted, but haven't been for two months.
It's clear that some of these program providers have made a private calculation - that the cost of encrypting a c-band signal is not worth it, given the very small numbers of actual, working big dishes. Still, they don't want to actually advertise that the signal is now coming down unscrambled. FCC, protecting their licenses, etcetera.
If you can't scan S-2, even with an add-on board, how can you ever find the good stuff? Is there a secret list somewhere that has the information?
Or is there a better way?
