We just switched to HD and a guy came and installed one of these dvrs in our tv room. We ordered a second to replaced a SD dvr. They waived the install fee and just sent us a the dvr and no guy.

I have the dvr hooked up and it has picture on both tvs( 1 hd, 1 sd), but it can't find any satellite signal at all. I've run check switch a dozen times. I get some error that says an input or switch is not hooked up right. I don't know what a switch is but everything looks the same behind my box as it does behind the pro installed one. Also the working box has satellite 129, mine does not. Both are running off the same dish. I've also tried switching inputs, nothing. I've double checked every connection.

Edit: I just got an error code 022(receiver not authorized) We activated something online.

Error 022

Symptom
Errors 005, 013, 014, 016, 022, red Electronic Program Guide, black screen with info banner, missing channels, new activations that have not received authorization yet, programming additions that have not received authorization yet.

Cause
Unauthorized card in the receiver, favorite list with the channels was not viewed, channels are locked and removed from EPG, missing codes on the account, service interruption on the account, old software in the receiver, incorrect receiver and card numbers on the account, poor signal.Allow up to 20 minutes for programming to authorize. Enhanced Locals channels are not available in all areas.

Prevention
Avoid authorization issues by maintaining current software and good signal. Knowledge of the receiver features such as favorite lists and locks may also benefit from missing some channels.

Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting is used for receivers that have problems with authorization.
  1. Verify there is video on ch.101 Sat. 119, ch.9900 Sat. 110, ch.9902 Sat. 61.5, ch.9903 Sat. 118.7, ch.9904 Sat. 148, ch.7000 Sat. 105, ch.9905 Sat. 121 OR ch.9901 Sat. 129. Continue to next step. Leave the receiver on this channel until troubleshooting has been completed.
    Why?

    • There should still be video on the free access channels 101, 580, 7000, 9900, 9901, 9902, 9904, 9905 if receiving signal from these locations. If there is no signal from one of these locations, the channel will not be available.
  2. Press Menu on the remote. Go to System Setup, Installation, and System Info. On the System Info screen, does the receiver’s software in field d match the software on the Receiver home page on the website?
    No

    • Power receiver/all tuners off to accept the upgrade. Use the Software Upgrade screen for the 721 and 921. Eventually, either 061 message or black screen with blinking LED will appear. Allow up to 60 minutes for the 721, 921 and 15 - 30 minutes for all others. During this time, do not touch the receiver or remote.

      To force the software download on 211, 222, 322, 411, 522, 622, 625, 722, 942 receivers, the Updates time can be changed.
      1. Press Menu on the remote.
      2. 322: Go to System Setup, Installation, Updates.
        211, 222, 411, 522, 622, 625, 722, 942: Go to Preferences then Updates.
      3. Change the update time to a closer time, then select Done.
      4. Power the receiver off. At the time chosen, the software will download. Once this has been completed, go back into the Updates preferences and change the time back to the original time set.
    Yes

  3. Does the receiver have all green in field g?
    Why?
    • If the required equipment is not installed for the programming on the account, the appropriate equipment needs to be installed.
    No
    • Troubleshoot for signal loss using error 002.
      * Improper installation results in unrecognized satellite locations.
      • DPP Twin and two other locations connected to DPP 44 connected to DP 34, causes missing channels from fourth location on tuners connected to the DP 34.
      • If using a DPP Twin, DP Dual and DPP 44; make sure the DP Dual is connected directly to the DPP 44. The DP Dual cannot connect directly to a DPP Twin when using a DPP 44.
    Yes

  4. Select Check Switch on the right. At the bottom, select Test. The receiver displays an Attention 058 to wait until the check is done. When finished, the Installation Summary screen is displayed. Verify that the programming is back. If not, continue to the next step.
  5. Power off the receiver and unplug the receiver from the electrical outlet. Wait 15 seconds, plug the receiver back into the electrical outlet and power the receiver on.
  6. If the problem persists please contact us for additional assistance.
