Seattle releases Alexander.

I am not shocked either. I think he can still make somebody a good back for 1000 yards or more.

ESPN mentioned that Indy may be interested. I don't think there's any substance to that prognostication though, so take it for what it's worth.....

I dunno. It's hard to argue with that 30 year-old milestone for RB's. It scary how history has shown that production drops off severely once a RB approaches 30 years old.....

Yeah but that number in my opinion is a thing of the past. Do a comparison over the last 10 years compared to the previous 10 years and I bet there is big difference. Players are more apt to work out after the season is over.

Really?

Following is a list of all NFL running backs over the age of 30 as of the start of the 2007 season.

Mike Alstott, Tampa Bay (33)
Mike Anderson, Baltimore (33)
Stephen Davis, St. Louis (33)
Warrick Dunn, Atlanta (32)
Kevin Faulk, New England (31)
Ahman Green, Houston (30)
Sammy Morris, New England (30)
Lorenzo Neal, San Diego (36)
Michael Pittman, Tampa Bay (32)
Aaron Stecker, New Orleans (31)
Mack Strong, Seattle (35)
Fred Taylor, Jacksonville (31)

Looks like Fragile Fred Taylor was the ONLY exception to the 30 and over RB club. Go figure!

hmmm Dosent Indy like to throw to thier backs? I know he had a cast on, but I cant remember Shaun being a great out of the backfield reciever...I see him more as a third down back, I would take him in Pittsburgh.

Edit: the reason they let him go, and this is just IMO...I think Shaun is afraid to get hit anymore, if you look at the way he ran last year, it was alot of fear in that boy, it will take him awhile to get back to form.
