It's more than just a 5 tuner system, I consider it the 8 tuner system since the H25's have their own tuner. The system might be able to compete with the DirecTV 8 tuner system if you can have a unified scheduled recording list between the two hoppers. If so, then we have a very very close race in hardware. Which is a good thing as it will be down to programming choices and price that makes the difference. Competition is a great thing!

Which is why DISH needs to enable their 922/wMT2 and give them the ability to see the 211ks through DISH's SlingHome plug.That would give that 8 tuner system a little competition,let's see 2SAT+2OTA(922/wMT2) and 2 moreSAT+2 more OTA(2-211ks),Wow! that makes 8 tuners too!

Can't do that since there is no MoCA in either box... They possibly could talk over SlingLink but it would be a nightmare for tech support... Neither of those have the processor power to do it either...

For me the other big news was the news of OTA and integrated Hopper support coming this summer.

Scott, did you see anything like a working model of the integrated Hopper? Or even a mock-up? There are several design questions that would be interesting to see how they are implemented. For example, which Hopper gets precedence on user defaults? For example, one Hopper might have PTAT enabled and the other not enabled. How does the system balance the load on the two hard drives? If one Hopper goes bad, what would be lost or kept? I would love to hear or see pics of whatever hands on experience you have with an integrated Hopper. That might be a good indicator of whether a summer release is really in the cards or just talk.

There was no working integrated Hopper setup nor was there a working OTA demo.

They say that it WILL be out near the end of summer.
