They canceled The Dresden Files? I'm so sad.
Only 3 shows worth watching on Sci-Fi any more--Mind Control with Derren Brown, BSG, and Eureka. (Not really into Ghosthunters.) None are on right now, and I've watched all the Stargate SG-1 episodes soooo many times.
FYI:
- Doctor Who is not produced in HD.
- Odyssey 5 (underrated series from 2002) is being shown on SciFi starting Friday, October 12. It was originally shown in HD - so if SciFi-HD channel does not show it in true HD, that will be a pretty good indication of their commitment to HD.

Correct on the first point, and entirely wrong on the second point.
The corporate parentage is showing more SciFi on NBC than on SciFi Channel. Monday night on NBC is far better SciFi than anything on SciFi channel (with the exception of Doctor Who on the latter, which is only on SciFi because the property was sold to SciFi prior to the new management of BBC America coming on board).
Battlestar kicks the pants off of any current sci-fi show out there, actually.
Journeyman is going to fizzle soon--unless old Quantum Leap fans emerge from the woodwork to support it. And I wouldn't really classify Heroes as sci-fi. Its camp superhero stuff--which is what I mean by "respecting the genre".
Science fiction doesn't have to be pulp and camp...only those ignorant of its finer examples and the merits thereof would assume so--and the current corporate steerage of SciFi (if not the Viacom mothership) seems to think that schlock is the inevitable and preferred course du jour they're content in offering their viewers. Ghost 'busting' or wrestling anyone?
Fantasy isn't science fiction either. As an eight year old I didn't understand why many said "Star Wars" wasn't really science fiction--now I get it. The fact that bookstores often put the two section together doesn't mean that they're the same thing. Fantasy is raw escape--science fiction is about the human condition and reading forward-thinking trends and possibilities into often allegorical explorations of such.

No, in many of their posts they were arguing that that this was a scam. they were so certain that if they had not heard about it then it could not be. Spin it anyway you want to but guys shouldn't post as facts and not expect some grief. No one was offering an opinion, they were stating facts. As I said, man up and admit the mistake.

The fact that they had "Species: the Awakening" in HD (according to some of you) is a good sign that it is not only an "upconvert" channel. Tonight SGA (StarGate Atlantis) will have a new episode. I would like to know if it is in HD. Eureka and Painkiller Jane as well. I do not care about the SciFi Movies since they are cut and with endless of commercials. Let's concentrate on the series. If they have them in HD, it will show a strong commitment about their HD channel. If they don't, I will have to pass until they do. Please post on this thread tonight. SGA starts at 9pm and repeats an hour later. Thanks.
Wrong. I watched an HD movie "Species:the awakening" on SciFi HD on D* last night. IT LOOKED GREAT TOO. The material is just not labelled with HD yet in the guide. I am sure that all New series etc will be HD. Lets stop the misinformation and conspiracy theories people.
It really is great news. It is nice to see some sanity among the E* subs.

It is great. I don't understand the D* trolls though. Is it really so important that people who don't have D* know how much HD there is on SciFi HD that the same D* troll posts have to be written a hundred times?
