Well yesterday morning I woke up to find my HD TiVo in stuck in a "Welcome. Powering up..." screen and found the unit to be totally unresponsive. After removing the power for about 15 sec and reapplying it the machine booted up, however playback was incredibly choppy and unresponsive to any commands from the remote. After trying a few things, I gave up and called D* tech support who advised me that my hard drive seemed to be having issues and they will be sending me a replacement.
So now here I am without TiVo, without HD, and pretty much without TV on my primary set till I get my new one.
Thing is I never had any problems with the little fella. He did his job and quite well might I say. There he sat on the TV stand giving me the the recordings and suggestions of various programs. Never a problem with playback. Never a problem with the HDMI port that a few have had the misfortune of dealing with. Alas, it was a weak ticker that took him down. Sad in a way.
So heres to my favorite little machine, and to hoping his replacment will be just as good.
