SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Activity Discussion - Week Ending 10/06/2007

Unless something happens tonight it looks like we're at least 2 weeks away from seeing any of the hd channels D* recently added that E* doesn't have yet (one week to uplink and another to make it available). This isn't law but it's usually how it happens.

Activity for HD sports in New England! Just a name change and still not available, but still activity. This was one of the original RSNs to be uplinked over a year ago. I thought they forgot about it.

Celtics will only have 40 HD home games this season, I can't wait to see none from E*

Boy am I glad that we're still using the separate Uplink and Discussion posts (my proud suggestion)... I'd have gone nuts had I have to read through have these "I need to know what's happening now, I can't take it or i'll jump off a building" posts!

Good work Digi!

too many letters it would have to be 5 or less, something like STGYS

Tell that to BellExpressVU:

994 - 1000001016002012002008002004REMINDER: THIS IS A FUN CHANNEL...PLEASE IGNORE THE MESSAGE OR TUNE TO ANOTHER CHANNEL [MPEG2 SD] - Nimiq1/4 91W TP 28 Canada/US beam - Available

SciFi has big some shows in HD. I wouldnt dismiss this. And besides, the upresed version would look a lot better than what we're getting now. D* getting these stations (even uprezed) would have me strongly consider switching if I was not in contract.

Okay, let me get this straight - you would switch providers - changing all of your equipment - waiting hours for yet another installer - learning new buttons on the remote - just to have an upconverted version of an SD channel ???

Note that Universal HD is owned by the same people as SciFi and USA, and yet we have never seen a new SciFi or USA program shown in HD on Universal HD (the closest was about a week later for Flash Gordon and then just the pilot).

( Similarly, Food Network has a full time HD channel, and yet they don't have any new programming either - it's all from 2005 and 2006. Anything that is good, I've already seen in SD. )

The most ironic thing is that NBC Universal is showing all of its best Science Fiction on NBC instead of SciFi. Heroes is better than anything on SciFi, and so far Journeyman is at least equivalent to SciFi shows (like Dresden Files), Bionic Woman has the same sort of terrible direction and low-brow pandering as most SciFi shows ;) , while Chuck seems better made and more goofily entertaining than most SciFi shows. So, SciFi seems to have become NBC Universal's reject outlet...

dpp or dp?

USA & Bravo HD
