Just called Dish customer service, dude told me no way they get the BTN in time for 9/1/07, and also sounded VERY pessimistic about getting the channel at all this Fall.

When I inquired about what it would cost to break my contract, he gave me the details very directly with no emotion or attempt to dissuade me. I guess they really don't care if people leave over the BTN

You don't honestly think a CSR would be in the know on this do you. We'll hear about it hear if it's added before they do.

Looks like 110w TP17 has physically been cleaned of all video streams. I have this funny feeling we will see something happen with this prime "real estate" tomorrow.

Thanks to a tip from JohnH, there are 6 MPEG4 HD streams here now with fish for now. There are not numbered yet nor are they in the channel tables. Let's see if they pop up on the report this afternoon.

I'm just guessing that would be a no as it sounded like Big Ten wanted to charge too much for the channel.

That answers the question as to what they were gonna do with TP 17 on 110.

We knew it was for MPEG4 HD already, but this doesn't answer the entire question though.

I thought the HD PPV channels might be sharing time with the HD RSN's?? IIRC those are on 129 and 61.5.

I can't see them doing that.

Most of the PPVs are on 110 and some on 119. I don't think they'll put the HD PPV on the wing satellites but who knows what their plans are.

No i said they could be sharing time with the RSN's I don't have this confirmed.

I asked about the HD PPV Channels and this was the reply I got back from the Dish PR folks.

2) As you know Dish Entertainment Magazine announced that 9 new HD PPV channels are coming to Dish Network on September 12th. Will there be an official announcement about that?Sorry, no updates at this time.



3) Talking with friends at Turner, I am told that CNN HD, TBS HD and Cartoon Network HD are coming to Dish Network in September. The one I am most interested in is TBS HD since they will be covering the MLB playoffs in HD this year. Can you offer anything here?We will be launching more HD channels in September, but don’t have any specifics to share at this time.
