July 19 (Reuters) - Citigroup on Wednesday upgraded EchoStar Communications Corp. (DISH.O: Quote, Profile, Research) to "buy" from "sell" and said the new rating reflected its expectation of the company's merger with DirecTV Group Inc. (DTV.N: Quote, Profile, Research).
The brokerage also raised its price target on the shares of the satellite television provider to $39 from $26. They had closed at $32.01 Tuesday on the Nasdaq. (Reporting by Swagata Gupta and Ramkumar Murthy in Bangalore)
