Sat tuners in use for software or Guide Update

OK, I see that. But, also nothing could be watched on those two tuners when they were being used to download the guide and that was our problem. We were recording on the other tuner so a reset was not an option.

The issue is occurring right now on sat tuner 1. Lost locks 250. I'm resetting the Hopper right now.

Reset cleared the tuner so its now available.

The past 3 mornings when turning on the H2K after the nightly re-boot it has 'Guide Update' on 2 of the 3 tuners. No guide update is going on, just 2 tuners saying that. A red button reset fixes it. Check switch is fine and everything else is working fine too. Very strange.

It sounds like an update is happening. Maybe your box is losing power during the night somehow. Power saving surge bar or something?

No updates happening. It's on a UPS.

You can't tell if rms is downloading. If you leave it alone, how long until it goes away, if it does?

Never goes away on it's own. Tuners 1 and 2. Just the last 3 mornings. Tried a pull the plug and let it sit a while yesterday morning but it was the same again this morning.

What's rms?

The rich media stream, additional guide data and tile art etc.

I would try bypassing the ups for one night and go directly to the wall and see if it happens again tomorrow.

Oh yea, and a check switch fixes it too.

It's had 'Guide Update' on a single tuner occasionally in the past but never two tuners in a pattern like this.

Will do. I'll let you know. And thanks as always. :)

My Hopper is not hooked to a UPS and I see the same issues. I started this thread and had Zachs report the issue.

The only way I know of to fix this guide update is to run a check switch run on your hopper and it will do the same for the super joey at the same time. It is a bit if a nuisance ,but it has to be run from time to time. Otherwise your system won't ever run correctly.

It has already been determined that a check switch does not correct the problem permanently. Zachs has reported the issue.

Same thing this morning. I'm gonna try a different plug overnight tonight.

And one more clue. If you go to the 'Point Dish' screen and let each tuner lock it clears the 'Guide Update'. A check switch isn't necessary.

Well the only way to permanently fix it is for DISH to fix the software. Till then , the only way you can fix it is temporary fixes like switch check runs. With a super joey attached to my hopper /joey setup , I have to run these even more now. Yesterday was a great example. The uplink center in Arizona was rained out and it caused my eastern arc setup to lose signal. Then the only way I could get it all back working correctly again , after the rain passed was a check switch run.

I'm having the problem right now and it sucks. It is taking 2 of my 5 tuners out of action to 'acquire data'.

Reset didn't help and can't run checkswitch because PTAT has fired off for the evening. This means I'll miss some recordings tonight too. This needs fixed very quickly as far as I'm concerned. I won't put up with it!
