S511 this morning on my hopper 3 DVR

Here's a new bug with U511. :(

When you have a standard definition channel paused in a MultiView quad for more than a few minutes and you move the focus to another quad and then return to the SD channel quad then the SD channel has no audio. If you try fast forward or fast back then the audio comes back but the video goes crazy. You have to go to Live TV to restore normal audio.

I use MV and SD channels a lot so this kinda sucks for me but will be unnoticed by most. I wonder if and/or when this one will get fixed. If this problem bothers you then please report it. The more reports the better the chance of a fix. :)

Both my H1’s were updated to U122. Skip forward, skip back, fast forward, fast back are all screwed up! Screen says 30 seconds on skip forward but it’s more like 10 seconds. Now takes 3 presses of skip forward to skip over a 30 second commercial instead of one press. Try to go back and it skips FORWARD some more! Totally useless. Pressing stop at the end of viewing a show doesn’t work. This is all while viewing a show stored on the second H1 from the first H1. Fast forward barely advances despite being at 300x.

Did I tell you about how they never released support for the USB keyboard for the 721?

;)
:oldwink
Nor its access to the internet, something LIKE a browser! Nor the 922's even better very great looking internet browser split with active video from the STB. It looked too good to actually implement, didn't it? I would have been able to access the internet to get more data on the movie and actor, etc. like I have to now use my old tablet for that :). Nor that Dish Monitor that was to receive a stream from the DVR--but then tablets and apps became affordable, so no point in the device, either. Hey, we got a million of those vapor ware from Dish. There should be a Museum of the Dish Vaporware! :). It would make an interesting exhibit---AND I AM SERIOUS about such a museum--The Museum of Vaporware housing ALL tech Vapor from all companies. I LOVE IT!!! :).

One of our H3's got the download yesterday. We couldn't figure out the change to the DVR screen or why it did look different. Thanks for the info.

I agree, the removal of the title from the bottom of the thumbnail was NOT a good decision because far too many times the artwork for the tile incorporates the name of the show or movie with type or font TOO SMALL or obscure to read. Now I won't know WHAT show or movie is displayed on my DVR list. Some of titles in the art work can be TOO stylized such that I DEPEND on the titles in easy text under the thumbnail. Add to this that now TiVo (formerly Rovi) does NOT have the unique artwork for SEVERAL shows and the text they use on those generic artwork thumbnails is too hard to read, so I DEPEND on the plain text under the title to know what in the world that recording is.

Did they not discuss this change at some length at Dish, and what made them think that TiVo's provides the correct, unique thumbnail to even 70% of the shows and movies. I'm going to have to check on my TiVo if they got rid of birth and death dates, but I can't remember if they ever had them.

The DVR tiles are useless for sporting events with the text now gone, since the tiles are just generic sports league logos. Have to go stop on each tile and look over at the description pane to see which game it is.

For something that bizarre, it may be worth the effort to unplug power from the Hoppers for a couple minutes, then plug it back in and let it reset. May not fix it, but couldn't hurt if you haven't already tried that.

I don't know about you guys that can put hundreds of tiles on the screen and then split the screen to browse the internet and expect to see any of it.
Are you watching 200 inch screens?
I can barely read the descriptions under the tiles now. I can hardly wait for the upgrade that removes the descriptions.

DVR folders are larger. You can change the size by selecting options then large posters to change the size. Not sure if this is new. Settings, power, there is a daily reset tab. Defualt is 1:00am.

Being able to choose when the H3 resets each night for updates is a good change, something that has been missing from it since launch I believe, compared to the older Hoppers.

I do agree that removing the show title text in the DVR menu was not the best idea. There should be an option to show/hide the program title text, giving you the option.

Also, I noticed another change. When doing a text search, your search keyword appears in yellow and is highlighted on the right side under the list of TV shows and movies that auto-populate based on what you're searching for.
