Anyone using s-video to ethernet baluns with the 4DTV? I'm still trying to find something that will give good video quality. So far, I've tried 2 different types of baluns and two ethernet cables and the video is smeared and/or teared. I was getting beeps from one of the baluns that processed the audio also.

You know, for some reason I don't think the s-video baluns are very common. Other video types are out there but I haven't seen alot of s-video ones. I use some slick HDMI over CAT5 passive baluns and they work great.
Just what are you trying to do? Sounds like the input level is too high if you get tearing. Cables Unlimited makes a nice composite & S video to HDMI converter which
will get you 720i if that is what you are looking for. Cost around $100 though. I just think you should check video input and sync pulses. I get good pictures on a 73" with just S video input.
you can use 8 bnc to cat 5, security camera baluns. buy a cheap s-video cable and two panel mount BNC jacks.
cut the s video cable and connect each shielded pair to each bnc jack...solder it.
observe polarity.
use cat 5e, do the same thing on both ends.
for audio, use bnc to rca plug adaptors, do this each end. you will use all 4 pairs of the cat 5e cable.
it will give you a good picture and stereo sound. the passive security camera baluns are dirt cheap on ebay.

The converter box that I mentioned would give you that HDMI Port. However for 100 feet I would just use the modulated signal for channel 3 or 4 and a good RG6 and live with it.
They're actually quite common. I use them all the time with a portable multi-camera video recording system. I use standard XLR microphone cables for sound.

Garbage in, garbage out.
We use them with prosumer Hi8 cameras and the image looks great.
