The list I saw had Hartford Scheduled for 1/05

I believe it when I see it. We were passed over during the top 40 rollout of SD channels years ago and then placed on 119 when we did rollout. I just hope D* finally realizes the importance of the 28th largest DMA and 1 million potential customers. Not that I need my locals since I get OTA, but it would be nice to have backups.

Are all these dates off by a year? On this list Detroit doesn't start testing until 11/1/06? I thought the rollout of HD locals is supposed to be the end of this year.

Yes, the dates are off by a year. I was just making a joke since we have all been waiting years for D* to deliver more national HD and HD LIL. All dates are 2005 and 2006 respectively. I deleted my post to avoid any further confusion. Sorry!

so any chance some markets will work on hd-tivo?
I believe you will need an Mpeg4 HDtivo or reciever, a 2 yr commitment and a 5 lnb dish to see the new stuff. And that is going to take a LONGGGGGGGGGGG time. AND as I understand it there will be no more self installs. I will believe any of these horseshit dates when I see D*'s installation schedules for their HD sub base. Forget the stupid launch dates you cant see the channels anyway.

All you guys are like Angry Little Beavers! The Sarcasm is Dumbfounding! lol Thanks for cheering me up. I as well am going to use complaining about HD to get the hurricane and high gas prices off my mind. I now know what is truly important in life.

We'll, See Ya Later!

Alright, vurbano is saying what I've been trying to say. Without D*'s uplink updated to MPEG4, no MPEG4 STB's, no 2'x3' dishes w/5LNB's..it ain't happening.....remember D* said the HMC was to be out around the end of 2005......they have "cried wolf ". Spaceway 1 is up, they should already have "beta tested" MPEG4 off it......Spaceway 2 might launch the end of Oct 2005............3 or more months to get into position w/testing.......but no MPEG4 STB's still.
Remeber, this was to happen starting in July 2005.....maybe another type-O...........July 2007?
D* needs to get a "Public Relations" overhaul..........major overhaul.

Longhorn, sorry my friend......

Glad to see I was correct again. :D

A good friend of mine and her husband lives there. But why the list of zips?!

The county/zip list is the complete list of the communities that are in the Detroit DMA. These are the lucky few areas that will have DIRECTV soft early launch of the new MPEG-4 HD LIL programming and new H20 and 5 LNB PLUS dish system.

OH! I was just confused, because I figured most people on this board (from Detroit) would already know they lived in Detroit since SD-LIL is available to them... therefore I thought that you wanted us to input the zip codes in at www.directv.com because it would say something about HD-LIL (which I did, and it doesn't), and then I thought maybe those particular zip codes had some sort of special significance.

Any pics of the new 5-LNB dish?

DIRECTV will take care of upgrading all existing customers through their HMO servic provider. They will upgrade everyone on their own internal schedule of area by area.

New subscribers can order through a dealer. Not sure if all dealers will be able to take the early October orders, but we will find out more as we get closer to October.
