Over that time they didn't bother to get the tapes or whatever from the DVR security camera system the club uses... so they were overwritten.

There are jokes going around here saying the Steelers will win the Superbowl because no NFL team can get tapes of Ben's play because they are all taped over.

They'll get whatever penalty they would have gotten if Little Ben wasn't there and she was caught. It won't be more severe just because another celebrity sex addict was in the house....

That is your opinion and very entitled to it. Personally, I think that whomever is in charge will come down hard them because the bar has put a bad name to the town.

Interesting article by ESPN's Jemele Hill....

....Goddell has not even MET with Roethlisberger....

This is the final section of the story, but I HIGHLY recommend that all should read.

In the past, Goodell has made it clear that protecting the NFL's brand is his foremost concern. When Goodell barred Vick from training camp while dogfighting charges were pending against him, he wrote this to Vick: "While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy."

Given that stern position, Goodell should not only already have met with Roethlisberger, but he should already have come to the conclusion that no matter how this investigation turns out, Roethlisberger should be suspended.

When Goodell sat Jones down for a year, he wanted to send a message that irresponsible behavior could cost an NFL player his livelihood. If Goodell doesn't schedule a meeting with Roethlisberger immediately, it feeds the perception that white NFL stars under criminal investigation are treated differently and will receive more benefit of the doubt than their black counterparts.

cosmo is still right though... they can come down hard on them but to the letter of the law, the punishment will probably be the same even if they didn't have some sexually promiscuous QB on the premises.

Your are missing the point....look at it way, how you feel, being the local government, some bull**** bar just put the town on the map.....for absolutely the wrong reason.
Also...if they had followed the law, this MIGHT have not happened.

Sounds like it could be time for these guys to slither back into the spotlight...

So, for Eldrick you're blaming the media, and for Ben you're blaming the bar??

With Ben's track record it's obvious the bar happened to be the wrong place at the wrong time. It could have happened anywhere....

I predict Goodell suspends Ben 5 regular season games w/o pay this year for two reasons:

1. Goodell can under the "conduct unbecoming a player" law

2. That is the type of intervention Roth needs . . . he needs to be made aware of his conduct and the only wake up call will be if you take away what he gets paid for!

NO.....for Tiger, its Tiger's and ONLY fault. The media's fault in that situation was it was a private matter. PLEASE get your criticism of me correct if you plan to call me out.
The bar does bare some blame because she WAS under and IF the bar would have done their job, a POSSIBLE rape would had happened because would have been there and she would have to have taken her party somewhere else.

Big Ben needs to grow up, and fast. Almost kills himself on a speed bike then can't keep his d*$k in his pants (or whatever). The guy is heading down the wrong path it seems.

The bar obviously was at fault for letting a minor in, but you have to be real naive to think nothing would have happened if she wasn't there. Especially with some of the details that have come to light, it's obvious it could have happened to any woman in the bar that night:

Rocky Duncan, the manager of Capital City bar in Milledgeville, Ga., said Roethlisberger and his entourage of "about nine" people, not including the accuser or her friends, had arrived at the bar at approximately 1:10 a.m. Duncan said a member of Roethlisberger's group had asked for VIP seating in a private section of the club and a bouncer from the club to be stationed outside the area. Duncan said Roethlisberger's friend said, "We want the girls [to be allowed back into that section]."

Goodell's slippery Roethlisberger slope

Again missing the boat.....nothing would have happened TO HER at that bar. And you are only SPECULATING that something would have happened anyway.

Again, missing the point. With all other football players, especially black football players.....he has been very quick to act, even BEFORE most cases went to jury. Here, he has not even MET with good ole Ben. Not saying that it IS a race thing....but there is way too many cases where perception is looking and smelling way too much like fact.

Well Pac MAn was mentioned when the Ben stuff came up, but Pac Man had a HUGE list of problems with the league when Goodall suspended him.
