It's not about "taking sides". You blatently lied about everything you posted through 19 pages of this thread to get a rise, then you basically took back everything we've been discussing for 19 pages.

That is a tad bit strange.

Of course he could have been telling the truth for 19 pages and be lying now.

That's the problem with liars, you never know when to believe them...so you never do.

Exactly. There are countless posts in this thread, mostly by televisionarchives, coming up with many ways that Roethlisberger cannot possibly be guilty, even before any facts have come out.

Let's wait and see before we proclaim him innocent.

Sandra

How about we wait and see what happens before we convict a guy that happened to be in the same room.

DNA is kinda irrelevant when reportedly Ben has admitted to non-intercourse sexual contact with the accuser. (like his other case, admitted to being a sleeze, but not to rape)

I say it's a mess because of stuff like USAToday's article citing an analyst saying this case is going to be impossible to prosecute.

The analyst? The attorney for one of the guys that could be charged with an accessory to the crime if Ben is charged.

The requesting and then not wanting DNA thing is another in a string of stupid moves by the local investigators. Apparently they were called away from the scene because of a murder investigation, and didn't go back for a week. Over that time they didn't bother to get the tapes or whatever from the DVR security camera system the club uses... so they were overwritten.

The whole thing is a mess.

If Ben was innocent, I'd be freaking out and going nuts about the local authorities messing up this case.

Steelers are talking pretty tough about his situation, it gives the impression that this is basically his last strike, if he's charged and this goes bad he's done. If this kinda goes away and something else happens, he's done.

Yup, anyone that can get in the place is allowed to become an investigator .... I'm surprised the Enquire hasn't sent thier people yet. (maybe they have).

Maybe my 16 year old niece should go down there, shes got no credentials to do anything like this, but apparently you don't need any thing to do this kind of work.

As for the Steeler's, they are not liking this happening at all.

IF Ben's convicted, they could be sending him packing soon.
If he's NOT convicted, I am sure they will have a very LONG talk with him about the people he's associating with and they won't allow anything like this again.

What a bunch of morons at the place .... re recording over the tape is in excusable, that should have been removed the very first night and became part of the case, you would think .

don't be surprised if this was done on purpose. Remember, the girl was UNDER AGE...so the bar ALSO has alot at stake.

Not sure about Georgia, but in most states the establishment gets a slap on the wrist and has its liquor license suspended for a few days. Unfortunately, it's a common occurance at bars frequented by college students....

Georgia comes down pretty strict about underage drinking. Get busted the first time and it's a 30 day suspension. A second time can get you license revoked.

All depends if they carded at all or if the girl used a fake ID. If she used a fake ID then the bar is okay, but if they didn't card at all and served her alcohol, bye bye license.

How small is this town and how small is their police department??

Or is it because reportedly some off-duty officers were in the club that night too??

Milledgeville has about 19,000 people, while Baldwin County (where it's the county seat) has about 46,000.

Not really a large place, my high school actually Baldwin High School every so often since they're both in AAA (GHSA has 5 size classification, from A to AAAAA) and not far from one another.

Millegeville is not that big a place.

Yeah....but MOST bars news of someone coming in that is under age does not become a NATIONAL sex scandal involving a sports celebrity that COULD become a rape charge. THAT changes the game.

Do you honestly think that that town is gonna let the bar get away with a slap on the wrist after giving that town a blackeye? I HIGHLY doubt that.

They'll get whatever penalty they would have gotten if Little Ben wasn't there and she was caught. It won't be more severe just because another celebrity sex addict was in the house....
