compression connectors

In 2008 when I was wbuilding my house, I ordered from Monoprice a 1k ft box of RG6 Quad shield for $63.25. It was this: http://www.trtinfo.com/products/tab...76/List/1/Level/1/ProductID/1826/Default.aspx

Monoprice doesn't carry this item specifically any more but they do have this, which appears to be comparable:http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10216&cs_id=1021604&p_id=7482&seq=1&format=2I have the Monoprice CL2, still to this day have tried all rg6, rg6quad
etc, compression connectors, and none fit, seem the thicknest of the black outer will not allow the opening of the connector to slide all the way in.
Anyone use this cable, and so, which compression connectors did you use?

$63... I should have bought two!
I bought the cable from Monoprice it is the CL2, my compression connectors do not fit this cable.
I have tried rg6, rg6u, rg6quad, etc. Anyone have success with this problem. The connector will only go in so far, the opening is not large enough.

I get 'em on, but it is very tight. I looked at the RG6U that the DISH installer used with the same connectors I have, and the cable looks noticeably smaller. I have these connectors: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004D9WXCM/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00

Agreed for a few extra bucks you can find good stuff. And solid copper is enough to make a difference on those week feeds.

Solid copper makes no difference for the frequencies we work with on satellite TV. If you believe the manufacturer in China cheated on the coating of copper to the point where it has defects then maybe solid copper is worth it to ease your mind. You could just buy copper coated steel RG6 from American companies with published loss data and not worry about it. As for weak feeds it has nothing to do with the cable as the cable is just carrying back the amplified and downconverted signals. The weakness is determined by the size of your dish and the quality of the LNB.

Now I'm sure someone will want argue that solid copper is better at carrying the power out to the LNB. I know many people have proven this to be a non issue as they have a few hundred foot run on copper coated steel. My setup has a 200 foot run out to a 4 port switch with another 10 to 20 feet to each dish and it works fine.

Only install good high quality cable if going inside your walls where it cannot easily be replaced.

To be honest any RG 6 cable, either 100% copper or copper clad steel, American or Chinese made will work fine.

Just to follow-up.. bought 50 TRS-6 compressor connectors on Ebay for 10$ and a spool of quad rg-6 wiring from a local hard ware store for 50$

Thanks all for your input.

Cheers, K
