Revolution

Good show last night...
if we suspect disbelief about the magic power button being pressed and the power grid back online within seconds (nukes must have been nuking, and the coal, natural gas and hydroelectric plants must havebeen electricing and fully-maintained over the past 15-years). However, I was surprised Nora ate a bullet.

Why would the coal be gone ? It's not like it was being used to generate electricity...
Power plants don't typically keep huge amounts of reserve coal. Plus, any coal in the burner stacks would have long ago burned out (coal just doesn't stop burning), therefore there would be no fuel on hand burning to generate steam and turn the turbines. Not to mention any surge from the power coming back on would trip any number of breakers.

Your own word: "hope". Fact is, people like familiar things. What would you suggest, no president or leader and they have democratic and republican primaries and an election months later ?
None of the younger generations would even know of this President. And the older generations would know of him as someone who just abandoned the country.

Besides, the United States has always been more than the President, therefore one person reappearing out of the blue won't change things.

Really loved the ending to the series, really can't wait to see how Season Two starts. All I can say is that season two will be twice as better as the first.

Am shocked NBC didnt drop the ball on the series and its season finale.

Interesting twist that the US President's been hiding in Cuba this whole time. As "patriots", does this mean Randall and Nora were on the same side?

Cheers, K

How exactly did all those lights just suddenly turn on in Atlanta? I really doubt Plant Scherer was pumping out power, or any of the other coal plants Georgia Power has as the coal supply should be long gone.

Since we didn't see the missiles hit Philly & Atlanta, I'm guessing Miles & co. will stop them.

And how does the President hope to take back the US? Even with electricity, he lacks the manpower and equipment to do it. And since his term would have expired a long time ago, people aren't exactly goign to fall in line. They didn't before the outtage, they won't after.

Am guessing the President will use nukes as a deterrent.

I'm taking a wild guess that Aaron turns the power back off & the missiles fall out of the sky,& then Neville breaks in & destroys the control panel so that the power can never be turned on again.

Am going to try and revisit this when season 2 starts but am certain you're right on the money. Despite being a work of fiction, there is no way NBC would allow 2 american cities to be nukes on TV.

Cheers, K

I really didn't understand why Randall would kill himself (narcissistic personality disorder) and why he would ever work with Monroe in the first place...seems to me he could have turned the power without anyone's help.

Why not? CBS did many more than that with Jericho.

However, I think yall are probably close with what will happen.

Randall killed himself because had no way out of that room (he shot the card reader so no one could get in and thus he couldn't get out) and because he'd done his job (got in, waited for them to turn off the nanites and then launch the nukes - though technically, launch codes should've been required). So, since he couldn't get out, and if he did, Miles would've killed him anyway...he blew his head off.

Monroe is likely going to try to build another faction to take on Neville. He's not the type to just skulk off into a quiet, private life. It's going to get really political next season...

How could they move back to the east coast after a nuke has gone off?

It feels like the next episode will start season 3 with the dumb break in the middle of the season ...
Hopefully next year they will go straight thru with all the episodes, the show picked up quite nicely once they started running them back to back again.

I bet the order the second half of the season earlier than they did this year to insure that they do not have the big gap.

They're going back to Washington D.C. It was Philadelphia & Atlanta that would have been nuked.

ummm,Philly is just up the road from DC.If a nuke hits there DC will at the very least have radioactive fallout.

You know, with both pretenders(Monroe,Nevelle) to the "Monroe Republic" throne in the Plains Republic, maybe,if the nuclear missiles do fail, there will be a raise between the U.S. Colony & the Georgia Republic to take over the Monroe Republic.

I believe that Georgia will shoot down those missiles now that their power is back up. They will take them down just in time and then keep Philly for themselves.

It's only 90 minutes to drive from Philly to D.C., so if a nuke hits Philadelphia, it's bound to have some radiation (fallout) on D.C., especially since the winds/weather patterns tend to go Easterly/NE...

Exactly my point.
