Revolution

Well folks, NBC hasnt learned yet how to kill a series (The Event anyone?)... The peacock (or pea-brain) just announced Revolution will be taking a 4 month hiatus from November to March.

Cheers, K

It's because they need time to produce the the rest of the full season order. Original order was 12 or 13.

I still hate that,It killed Jericho, and Flash Forward.People have a tendency to move on to something else in 4mos time.

Agree completely, would not be surprised if it ends up killing the show. I hate when they do this

4 months? That's stupid... It'll kill the show...

Yep, people are stuck indoors not wanting to venture out into the cold and dark of night. So NBC's logic is to put the show on ice for 4-months and bring it back when people have lost interest, forgotten about it (thought it may be cancelled), and are getting involved with Spring time activities. Genius! :facepalm

They're at episode 6 now and going on hiatus now so episodes 8-13 are going to wait. Unless the new philosphy is to order a season, film 6 episodes, wait to see if it gets cancelled then shoot the rest, the hiatus will kill its momentum

According to this article, it will be replaced by "Deception" on Jan 7, so it will continue into December, short of the Holidays...about the right amount of time to burn off the last six or seven.

This is why NBC is in last place in the big 3 for ratings. THey simply do not know how to run a network anymore. I liked the Event and by the time it came back from it's hiatus , most everyone had forgotten the premise of the show or where it was headed. Evolution actually had some good ratings and now this time off will kill any interest left in it for most , who will move on to other things come spring.

Hiatus = momentum killer. I think the only exception to this was BSG (4 full seasons in 7 years). Its the exception because it was a superior program...

Last episode was certainly my favorite thanks to a bathtub and black, skin-tight outfit... :D

I missed due to 30 second loss of signal that messed up my ptat. If what you say is true it may be worth an amazon purchase ;-)

Yeah, the break will most definitely kill it. Only possible saving grace on it for me is it will still be recorded when it comes back because of PTAT. So I will catch it back up, assuming I remember when it starts back.

Don't forget: NBC (Nothing But Crap) owns SyFY channel, which has really gone down the tubes over the years. SyFy started this hiatus crap with BSG. As another said, they got away with it due to BSG being must-see first of it's kind programming. They now have been getting bolder and bolder in doing stuff like that. Now we have whole series seasons that are like 10 episodes long, which sucks.

I don't think they'll learn their lesson until people start turning away from traditional tv watching much more than they already have.

Did none of you scholars read/get/understand the reason for the hiatus??? They have to make more shows!!! They were only recently given the back nine order .

Hiatus doesn't bother me that much because I leave the DVR timers in the program queue. I just got around to deleting the timers for The River, Terra Nova, Camelot, and Weeds, which aren't coming back. A couple of weeks after Revolution starts back up, I'll realize there are episodes ready to watch. LOL

The Re-imagined Battlestar Galactica was way more than I was expecting. I watched every episode but STILL bought the big Blu-ray box set with the toy Cylon. LOL I have every episode and movie of Babylon 5 too. Watched a handful of Lost episodes but couldn't keep up with it because of working a lot, so I bought the big box set with the game board and all the little trinkets and hidden bonus disc.

I can see maybe a 2-3 week hiatus to get more episodes in the pipeline and ready to air. You know they're already filming and editing new episodes after getting the go-ahead last month for a full 22-episode season. So, technically, there's no real reason for a 4-month hiatus. Get 2 "in the can" and start showing them while getting more done. They don't need to take a 4-month hiatus just so they can complete the entire 9 more episodes. Networks have just gotten used to doing a 4-month hiatus, which kills the show they extended...like that makes any sense...they throw anyway any momentum the show had by imposing such a long hiatus.

But I honestly don't think the networks care anymore...

The initial order was "wrapped". And the cast an crew were sent on "hiatus". Takes a LOT more than two or three weeks to get it all back together.
