WFLA, Ch 8 in Tampa will be adding the Retro Television Network on local OTA 8.2 starting Monday. I added that channel in my 622, but no guide info was available. What is Dish's track record of providing sub channel listings like this so i could set some OTA timers?

don't be so sure that RTN will be on there... sounds like RTN either went out of business last night or it's a dispute with stations.... either way RTN is off most FTA systems, and is off here on our channel 13 in the St Louis market.

I see the following slate on WJLA (Washington DC) DTV channel 7.3.

Well, I guess someone at WFLA missed that since the were promoting the heck out of it yesterday during football.

And Dish does not always provide subchannels or their PG. One of the reasons I'm OTA.

Its one reason I won't pay for locals to get guide data since they don't fill out all the channels.

RTN moved satellites, its still working here in Phoenix on KAZT

Sub-channel data for OTA is a case by case thing - all my PBS OTA sub-channels have complete listings. The weather sub-channels I have are also labeled correctly in the guide data.

Tulsa only had complete subchannel listing for one station until last month, then all of sudden they were correct and filled for the rest of the subchannels available here.

Is there some way to request Dish to add it? I know that Tribune doesn't have it, either, as I looked on their site too. I sent them a request to add it, but it hasn't shown up on Dish (haven't checked on tribune's site yet). We have an RTN channel here (8.2) also. It's NOT offline, so it must be a local/regional dispute with RTN rather than the whole network going offline.

EDIT: It is on Tribune's site now, so how does one get Dish to add it?

I sent mail to the programming folks (who I know from Satguys get togethers) to get the EPG info for 42-2 here in Austin (and it took MONTHS :( )

You might try dishquality@echostar.com as a starting point.

Let me know if you need more help (I still have connections...)

Track record for adding subchannel listing for major stations is quite good - at least in my market, but it often takes a while to get things right. RTN is not going anywhere, I was told it changed ownership and the new owners are using a different satellite to feed programming and not all affiliates were quick at the re-pointed.

Yeah...it's pretty cool I gotta admit. Can catch all those old shows I used to watch growing up (Quincy, Knight Rider) and some that were before my time (Emergency!). Hope it sticks around...I'm doing my part at least....now if only I was a Nielsen household... ;)
