This is not uncommon.... Many companies will tightly control the information available until the item is "shipping". That's what Dish is doing here. I'll bet you that anyone who talked about these new Joeys was told clearly what they can say and what NOT to talk about. No I do not expect to know everything about before it ships, but if it is making news articles as a soon to be shipping product they need to at least clue the CSRs in a tiny bit. Something along the lines of "We announced extensions to the Joey line coming in a few months, please refer any customer inquires to www.dish.com/superjoey"...

Seems odd the SJ has no PiP?
SJ not allowed with 2 Hoppers? What if you purchase your own? Will they activate it?
That was a popular question about the SJ/2 Hopper set up, I wondered that myself but Scott asked and with MOCA bandwidth issues could not workSeems odd the SJ has no PiP? SJ not allowed with 2 Hoppers? What if you purchase your own? Will they activate it?
"There will be one remote that works for the Virtual Joey regardless of which device you are using it on."
That will be kinda odd and convoluted. The same remote for the PS3, which uses BT, and various devices using IR, and maybe UHF?
Or will they require converters, to take a standard IR signal and produce BT?

I'm willing to bet someone from Satellite Guys will get it done. Perhaps it will even be you, blazing the path for others as you have in the past I'm thinking.

My guess is that it sends the signal back to the Hopper and not to the device that has the app.
I realize there's limitations and that every remote will differ, but nowadays the stock remote (with TVs, for instance), would probably suffice. Imagine if you needed an "Amazon Prime" remote, "Netflix" remote, "Hulu" remote, and so on to use with your smart TV, BD player, Roku box, etc ?...to be started and setup using original device remotes.
Yah I'm still on the fence about attempting to add a SJ to my 4H setup, lol. Gotta have more info. I wonder if the SJ can be placed behind the power inserter? If not that means I have to buy a third switch. Gets expensive fast.
Actually I do need to use the Roku remote. I have the Roku 2 XS and it is a bluetooth device. My Harmony isn't bluetooth, although they do have a remote that is....
I did find an App for my iPad Air that I can use as a Roku remote, complete with keyboard use while searching....
