What's nice about the announcements at Team Summit is that Dish gives us almost all the details. They hand out fliers as soon as the conferences are over. Team Summit is only for retailers so it's easier to release that info right away and they know they need to get it in our hands right away as well.

The new Joeys are not ready to ship yet anyways, plenty of time for Dish to finalize pricing and train dealers for installation.

Gotta hand it to them, they kept it under wraps pretty good this year.

I have no idea when anything is going to be available. The only info they've given us is that the Super Joey will be available late spring. As far as we know the Virtual Joey may be available right away and same for the voice features.

The general public could know, if they keep up on "tech" news, but 95% do not. I really doubt that you'll be inundated with calls from customers wanting one of these new Joey models.

oh I know I won't. This is more of just a personal thing and me wanting to provide answers on here. ;)

SPRING officially starts on March 20 and ends on June 20th. So if late in Spring is what they said , then we can expect the release of the Super Joey somewhere in June. Then expect announcement of new equipment prices shortly after: Super Joey goes up to $10.00- I'm betting.

To add to that, folks in the call centers don't know any details on these units either. And in the scheme of things, somebody is going to have to be able to troubleshoot these units. If like the initial rollout of the Hopper, only a select group or groups will be trained at first, and all other agents will have details on who to transfer calls to.

Things like this don't happen in a vacuum, I am pretty sure there are quite a few beta units out there, most likely being tested by employee accounts in Colorado, with a likely special phone # to call to get troubleshooting on them. To go to a full-scale rollout, a lot of people will have to get a good bit of training to be able to help.

Probably stating the obvious, but please don't call the CSRs to ask them the when/why/how on this. I know a CSR who already got a call asking details, I advised her to refer customers to the Dish website for rollout details. Call centers know nothing at this point about rollout, not to mention pricing. We'll likely start hearing things around the same time as the retailers.

It blows my mind that anyone would think they could get any accurate info from a CSR. They may tell you the info you want to hear but it's not going to be true.

Well I am probably assuming too much competence, but if Dish shows a new "future" box to the public, they should set up a basic information web page and send a memo to the CSRs to refer people to it.

No, nothing more than, "The Super/Wireless/Virtual Joey is not available yet and we have no information available" is sufficient.

A CSR only knows as much as what's on the computer screen in front of him. Now there may be a select few that actually do some studying on their own and come to this site but otherwise they don't know much at all. I'm a retailer and I find out more information here than I do from Dish.

One would think that way except in the world of marketting. I remember going to Comdex one year; probably half of the exhibits were concepts. Miner

BINGO! We have a WINNER!

If Dish had it as a concept box that would be one thing. The 922 appeared for a couple years as a concept box that eventually shipped. The new Joeys Dish says will ship in a couple months and is a real product. No I do not expect to know everything about before it ships, but if it is making news articles as a soon to be shipping product they need to at least clue the CSRs in a tiny bit. Something along the lines of "We announced extensions to the Joey line coming in a few months, please refer any customer inquires to www.dish.com/superjoey"...

That sounds way too logical for Dish.

I'm going to watching a webinar on the new Spring Promotion now. I will post anything that is of interest to everyone.
