Replacement receiver making noise!

Activated replacement 722 last Thursday. Today it started making a fan like noise that is so loud you can hear it while the tv is on. Anyone have any ideas what is happening?

Overheating I suspect or possible HDD failure.

Receiver was replaced because the hdmi port on the original failed. I'm fairly confident overheating is not the issue. The reciever is placed in the open on top of entertainment center. I'll pm maryb and see if she can help. Having Dish monitor and respond to customer issues and problems is awesome. Thanks Echostar.
