Greetings fellow Sat heads!

My replacement 622 arrived today. Appears new like I demanded from Dish as L4.01 crippled my 622 I bought 1 year ago with no contract. Kudos to Dish Tech. support, the tech went out of his way to help me and not try to get me off the phone! :)

I was getting reboots once an hour with L4.01 and once or twice a night with L4.03, better but still no dice.

My main ?'s are as follows as I want to start this "new" 622 out on the right foot, lol. Is there any way to keep it from d/l the so called new updates and only d/l the old 366 update?

Also, how can I tell what revision this 622 is as I still have my old packaging to compare to this one, still has the plastic tape on the doors.

I am only using one tv atm using 2 - SW21's, 1- 500 dual lnb, and a single dish pointed to 61.2. Other sat is pointed at 110/119. I have tried all combinations of connections after the L series updates to no avail.

Should I hook up the line from the wall directly into the sat1 connection and leave sat2 empty or use the splitter that came with my 622? Also, do I set to TV1 or TV2 since I like to DVR alot?

I have the option of keeping my old 622 or even swap with this new one. THX for all help and sorry for the long post but the last few weeks have been the most frustrating experience I have had with Dish in almost 8 years as a sub.

If you have a single cable and separator, I had to hook cable direct to tuner1 and download update before the separator and tuner2 would work. L403 is the latest firmware update and I don't think you have a choice.

The seperator which comes with the 622is DishProPlus equipment and will not work with the legacy sw-21 switches. If the unit is a replacement, move wires from current receiver to the new one. You need both inputs connected for the 622 to work properly.
