Remote response sluggish when watching Hopper in different room?

Please forgive if this has been discussed already. I frankly did not feel like trying to search for this topic, since I have had mixed results when searching forum topics so far.

I have a 2H/0J set up. Occasionally, I watch programs recorded onto the Hopper in our guest room. I have noticed that when I do so, there seems to be a slight lag issue with my remote sending or receiving data to the distant Hopper. When I say distant, I mean twenty feet away though, max. It is most noticeable when using the rewind or fast forward functions not so much on the skip buttons. Has anyone else experienced this? I am just curious. It is annoying, but I guess I will just have to live with it unless someone has any ideas about fixing it.

Yes Dish receivers in general haven't been the best at REW/FF accuracy since the whole TiVo lawsuit. I have also noticed that there is slight lag when viewing remote recordings whether it be from Hopper to Hopper or Joey to Hopper. It's about the same as when you are playing content from an EHD. I suspect that it is due to encryption. There is also the bandwidth of the MoCA network or USB 2.0 connection to consider as well. REW/FF requires significantly more bandwidth than simple playback or skipping.

I have a feeling that there is encryption somewhere along the line when viewing from one receiver to the next. Thus another reason why it's slightly slower. Personally it's not enough to bother me much, especially since I hardly ever use REW/FF, much prefer SKIP BACK/FWD. My Joey that I have on 802.11n WiFi is almost just as responsive as the MoCA Joey. So even though 802.11n has a good bit less bandwidth than MoCA, it still does pretty well. So it may not be just bandwidth alone, which brings me back to the encryption theory.

Yep, I usually use skip myself. I have just used FF/REW some lately and noticed the lag. My spouse prefers FF/REW, so I thought I would check on this before I begin to hear the complaints.

No, I understand the node distance. I only mentioned the remote distance to the Hopper to forestall someone who knows nothing about the remotes telling me that maybe the remote was too far from the Hopper in question.

Old receiver disposal ? 721, 508 and 7100
