I apparently know much less about my system than I thought. I have two Hoppers: "Living Room" and "Family Room". For the third time now I'm seeing a timer on "Family Room" that was listed as being initiated by "Living Room". I didn't think this was possible - my wife has no idea how she did it, and I can't find any way to initiate a recording on "her" Hopper.

Please educate me! Thanks.

Ah, an "improvement". So, can I disable this "feature" without my wife knowing I'm doing it :oldmad ? We have enough contention for tuners when we occasionally bring a Hopper in our trailer and try to share it with a Joey.

The initiating Hopper will not automatically record to the second Hopper. You will be queried as to whether you want that recording to go to the other Hopper and you have to say yes...

Thanks for all the replies. I guess overall the new feature is a good one, but if you're not paying attention it could cause conflicts if the primary user of the Hopper ties up your Hopper tuners without letting you know.

We have 3 hoppers along with several Joeys in our multi-family home.
Can this firmware updated "so called" feature be disabled OR can I choose which of the other two hoppers in my home, the timed recording goes to? So far, I've not seen that option. I don't want to infringe on other residents tuners unless they are out of town.

The Hopper always asks before pushing the recording to the other Hopper. Also, you can add isolators at the node to keep Hoppers from seeing each other.

Thanks for your reply however, I have no idea what you are saying by "adding isolators at the node." Also, I do see that I'm asked if it's OK to record on another Hopper however, I was hoping that I could choose between the other two Hopper's in the house to record my show but perhaps that's not possible.

The node is the device that takes the 2 tuner data signals from the dish and reformats them to a 3 tuner data signal the Hoppers require. Isolators look like a splitter but block the MoCA signals that Hoppers and Joeys use to communicate with each other.
