recieving both fta and dtv through one cable run

I have a 90cm Fta dish and motor and also subcribe to dtv and was wanting to run both the fta setup and the dtv setup through the one cable run coming in my room at my parents house, What is needed to accomplish this all help and advise would be appecriated

The signals from the DirecTV LNBs and the FTA LNBs won't share a cable.

Exactly what do you have and where do you want to put it and how did you want to hook it up.?
I don't think there's a solution for one cable, but maybe we can come up with some idea you like.
... possibly diplexing a channel 3 output of their DirecTV receiver onto your cable...

direct tv au9 dish h20 reciever hooked up via component cables
fta 90cm fortec with motor mercury 2 reciever

want to combine the two cable runs one from the au9 and one from the 90cm if possible into the one prerun coaxial cable that coming in to the house then seperating them again inside to the receivers

The only solution that I have heard that actually seems to work, is the FTA and Dish receivers at a central point where the cables take off from with RF extenders for the remotes on each. Each receiver feeds a modulator (or possibly use one on Channel 3 the other on channel 4) and combine these two signals together on the one cable. even more clarification my room has it on h20 in it what i want to do is outside of the house where the direct satellite comes in the house i want to run a coax from the dtv ground block and the coax from the dish together(dont know how to do that) then seperate the two in my room with one line going to the h20 and one to the fta reciever

Both systems (DirecTV and FTA) use the 950 to 1450 mhz frequency range from LNB to receiver.
Your FTA system may use a wider bandwidth.
Your DirecTV system does use 250..500? mhz, and around 950..2100 mhz.

is it possible to bring them into the house together then resplit them

watching either the Fta System by its self or the dtv system by its self and if so whats the best way to acheive this

they make remote operated antenna A/B switches.

You would need two switches at both ends. and have to flip the switches each time you wanta watch something else.

I would suggest running more coax lines if possible

it should work if you put the fta on 22 ON and directv on 0 OFF. Of course you can only can watch one at a time.

RG6 dual should fit through the same hole as your current single feed.

I don't think you can use a 22KHz switch, the AU9 has one built-in.

Could you try a DiSEqC switch, with Port 1 going to the AU9 and Port 2 going to the 90cm
Then connect to the FTA receiver, and Loop Out to the H20. Maybe with the FTA in StandBy the DiSEqC Switch will default to Port 1.
Try with out the B Band Converter first, it may have to go outside or between the DiSEqC Switch and LNBs.

another question would running the coax through pvc pipe above ground be safe with dogs in the back yard

I would think some Sch 40 PVC with glued joints would keep all but the most determined (think Cujo-like!!! ) dogs from chomping on your coax.

If they mess with the pipe spray it with pepper spray or put some hot sauce on it, they'll leave it alone.
