Questions about the upcoming new MPEG4 HDPVR

I am a dish customer for 6 years and the 921 has me at my wits end. I will not switch until Direct puts out their new MPEG4 HDPVR. I saw it at CES and it was awesome. I would like to know what it will be called and what is the anticipated release date. Does anyone out there know?

I am talking about the PVR that will do hd on one set and sd on 3 other sets.

The box your wanting is called the Home Media Center and it should be out for a soft launch around first of the year with an official launch a few months later. A good bet would be to say 1Q of 2006.

Just so you know D* will have an NDS based HD DVR that will be out before the Home Media Center and this will not be the same product as the Home Media Center.

The latest estimate for the HD DVR is now mid '06 and the HMC is probably going to arrive first.

Talking to the D* rep at Cedia, I was disappointed to find out the 1st MPEG 4 receivers would not be PVR's. Y'all are right, it will be the 1st qtr of 06. Dish Network is in the same boat. However, HD locals for Dish will come later than D*.
