I have direct tv, they no longer have channel 63 they did not renew there contract with them. That was the only channel that had italian news.
my question does FTA receivers have that channel? I think I can get that channel
with an outdoor antenna not to sure.
I am located in Brooklyn NY

moved to DirecTV area

no NY stations are on FTA except for ABC and you need a 6 foot dish for that :)

I was informed that channel 63 is OTA channel, according to antenna web its says
that I can receive that channel with an antenna. if this is correct it means that channel is FTA.

I just want to make sure before I go out and get an antenna.

There is a difference between FTA and OTA. FTA (as in Free To Air) are satellite broadcasts that are sent unencrypted and can be received by anyone with the appropriate satellite dish and reciever (C-band or K-band). OTA (as in Off The Air) are standard broadcast television stations that are receivable with any indoor or outdoor TV antenna.

What you would need for WMBN-63 would probably be an outdoor antenna.
