AMIKO Question on using Receiver as USALS and Diseqc 1.2m commander for H-H and VBox

Just thought of something I think may work but need some advice. My system has a 10ft mesh BUD with a 24" Superjack & V-Box and 1.2m ku dish on a STAB HH connected via 4x8 Multiswitch. To move the Ku, I use an Amiko STB to send USALS commands with a single coax directly to the STAB without a LNB connection. For the BUD, I use a VBox remote. But my remote was in a trauma accident ... So I was hoping it could be possible to connect the coax running to my STAB thru the in/out on the VBox and send Diseqc 1.2 commands from the Amiko to move the BUD? Anyone else try this? Should it be any issue that my slave receiver is not actually connected to any LNBs?
 
Well, a USALS motor would also respond to diseqc 1.2 GotoPosNN commands (as USALS is basically also diseqc 1.2 protocol, GotoAngleXX).

That means that you have to use an extra diseqc switch, for switching between the VBox-path, and the USALS motor-path.
Combining diseqc switch commands with diseqc motor commands most receivers can handle, I believe, nowadays.

Why do you use a separate receiver to handle motor control, by the way?
You could give one of the receivers that is connected to the multiswitch motor control. Or maybe even one receiver control over the V-Box, and another over the USALS motor.

To be complete: For the V-Box, you could also use GotoPosNN diseqc 1.2 commands, with the NN number above what is standardly stored in the USALS motor (about 35 numbers or so??); and then connect the VBox and motor in series.
Assuming the VBox has enough memory places available, above 35.
But I'd prefer the solution I described above.

a33's edit is what I do to keep my ku USALS commands separate from my disegc 1.2 commands. One box (Mio +) operates both Ku and Cband(ASC-1) motors. I stay above position 40(actually 44 is my lowest #). I used to use an Amiko that only went up to 60 positions but that still left me enough positions to cover the satellites I wanted.

I am trying to keep it simple thru one receiver so I can use an IR repeater and be able to move the dish in the bedroom too. And this will help my wife be able to move the dishes on her own. I can teach her one remote. I plan to program a TP from each satellite and shuffle the channel list so channel 91 is for 91w C band. 92 is for 91w Ku, etc. So I don't even have to connect the control STB to the TV.
 
Just thought I'd share an update. I connected the amiko as a mover along this path: Amiko>VBox>STAB>Multiswitch. The vbox passed the 1.3 USALS commands thru to the STAB for Ku movement. 1.2 Diseqc commands went straight to the Vbox for C band movement

Oops now I see that when I send a 1.2 Diseqc command, the STAB does also respond... I'll try inserting a Diseqc switch and see how it works.

By the way: This is the 'serial' solution.

You could also use the 'parallel' solution: splitting the cable to separate cables to VBox, STAB and multiswitch, without using the loop-through of the STAB and VBox. (splitter must have powerpass, in the right direction!!)

Depending on what is easiest with the cabling (given if the equipment is near or far from each other), you could choose either solution.
