Question on 942 and phone line

Maybe one of the forum ops can help me here. Im considering an order for the 942. If you purchase it to own...will it still have the $5 phone line fee? Please let me know. I see a lot of answers to the lease option but I want to own it.

Why would you WANT to OWN it. Lease is free!!!
If it goes bad, they replace it.

There is always a 5.00 fee if a twin tuner is not connected to a phone line.

Yes, if it is not plugged into a phone line you will be charged to access the second tuner.

If you don't want to pay for a second tuner then get a 921. If you want a 921 you better hurry, DishStore.NET only has 2 left in stock and when they are gone, they are GONE.

I think there are TWO reasons for the phone lines.

The reason why there is always a fee even if you puy it full price is DISH feels they are still subsidized at that price so YES they want there extra $5

2
Plus they are afraid that some will SHARE them with there friends (have 3 or 4 recevers).

The 1-800 call in production helps them a lot. If you dont want to call in to verify your location, then they want $5 a month.
