Does the autotune turn on the receiver when the show is programmed to start? Or do I have to leave the receiver turned on? I want to record a football game tomorrow when not at home. I can not find my damn manual so any help would be appreciated

i don't think autotune turns stb on. could be wrong. why not do a test? or just let it on to be safe.

The "autorecord" does not turn the receiver on, because it never really shuts off. The newer receivers go to a standby mode so they can power up immediately and continually receive guide data.

If you turn the receiver off, it will still record your show without a problem. The only thing you will notice is the record light will be on when it is recording, but the other lights will remain off.

He stated that he has the H20 so this may not pertain.

Sharpie, can you verify if you have the H20 or HR20?

That is why I asked him to verify. He was getting two different answers. One for a DVR and one without.
