Question about national updates?

Last night I was awake at 1:20am and was watching a recorded show on my HR24 when without warring the receiver freezes then reboots on its own and starts doing an update. Why would this happen when I'm in the middle of watching something?

it almost always pops up an on-screen msg where you can click to delay and then it times out after no action and proceed. is is possible you were away just long enough to not see it and then the D/L started?

I don't think you get a warning when you're viewing recorded content but I could be wrong.
