question about Direct tv

I just had the direct tv installed with 1 direct tv tivo and 2 standard receivers. How do I go about ordering another Direct tv tivo to replace a standard receiver? Do I contact Direct tv or can I purchase it through a dept store. When purchased will direct tv activate it?

you can call directv or dept store I would call directv they can chop the payments up for the directv dvr so you do not have to pay all of it right than and there.

you can buy them at best buys i know and direct tv will activate it

You have 2 IRDs and a DVR, thats 4 feeds from the dish. Call DirecTV and order it, or you'll be paying more in the long run upgrading a multiswitch and whatnot.

Any if you dont know what/why i said the above, even more reason to call DirecTV and have them do it.

I agree with Elstevo. It sounds like you want 2 tivos and one d-10 and thats 5 lines. 4X8 and 6x8 ms can be very expensive.
