I apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere.

But How can I change to an OTA channel directly without going into the guide or pressing the channel up button?

For example, lets say I'm watching channel 120 and I want to switch directly to my local OTA channel 4-1. How would I do that? Currently, On the remote I would hit the number 4 and then hit the channel up button once.

Isnt there a way I can enter channel 4-1 on my remote?

I use my Mitsubishi remote to control my HTL-HD. I press four numbers on the remote, so for the OTA channel 4 I press 0041.

With my HTL-HD I use a Sony VL900 (until I get a Harmony remote) and I enter somehting like 9- and it takes me to 9-1 ... just saves a keystroke, only one. and obviously this will not work if you are looking for a -2, -3, -4, etc.

Thanks for all your help guys.

The way to do it is to use the 30 second skip ahead button on the tivo remote. This button becomes the equivalent of a - after you press a number button. You can program this into any universal remote as I have done with my Harmony 659.

So to input 4-1 You would press:

4 Advance 1

THANKS AGAIN!
