Looking through previous posts on QS RG-6, it seems the consensus in the past is that there is little benefit. For those with expertise in this area, is that still the case? Is there really any appreciable advantage of running quad-shield RG-6 over regular RG-6 in a typical DirecTV SWM system?

Not that I'm aware of. The scc from the lnb to the power inserter is important.

The addition of DECA E band hasn't changed the physics appreciably so the old arguments are pretty much still valid.

No. And quad shield has no benefit on long cable runs either. Of the two types of RG6, DirecTV recommends SCC (Solid Copper Core) but CCS (Copper Clad Steel core) is just as good except for the run from the power inserter to the dish - and even there you only absolutely need it on long runs (but I always use it on the PI to Dish cable run, why not?).
