Zookster said:What two free games are you getting with the Welcome Back offer. The choices are (for PS3) in case you haven't heard:
Little Big Planet
Infamous
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD + Fury DLC
Dead Nation
I'm definitely getting Infamous and leaning toward Dead Nation, but will demo SS and Wipeout first. (I already own LBP).
Though some may complain they already have these games or some are pretty old, the offer is better than I thought it would be. I actually came very close to buying Infamous during the outage and Dead Nation a couple months ago when it was on sale.
I already own all of those, so no joy here. I'm really leaning towards contacting Sony and complaining about how limited the selection is.

Have infamous from my cousin and lbp I sold last year. To me the other 3 options are rather sub par. I think it would have been cooler to get like a 60 dollar credit to do whatever we wanted with.

Particularly for us that use their network for other things besides gaming.

•A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.

•Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.
•Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.
•Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.
•To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.
You know, they really didn't have to offer anything. The PSN is a free service that was taken down by an external attack. Sure their security could've been better (let's not rehash those arguments), but what they've offered is very generous considering how much money and customers the outage cost them. I personally won't be spending a lot of money on PSN or retail games or DLC I had planned to over the next couple of months as I play the free games and the PS+ games... And I'm sure I"m not the only one.
I'm sorry, but they exposed all of us to ID theft. To say that they don't have to offer anything to mitigate their poor security practices is disingenuous.

But Sony doesn't set the prices of the games or create sales on them do they? Isn't that all mandated by the game companies? Why would these companies want to do that? Sure Sony could give out coupons, but I don't see how they could demand that the game producers lower prices on their products.
