We could be moving at the end of the year. Is it possible to move our dtv service via a third party installer? I really hate dealing with the phone twits at dtv!!!

Yes, but even if you are moving within the same market you should still call to update your service address afterwards, so it doesn't create any conflicts if the new residents want to signup for service.
Another user here is a snowbird who migrates back north every spring, and they don't have any problems calling to switch their service address every few months.
