Possible to permanently disable DECA in a MRV-Ethernet setup?

Hey folks, this is my first post here and I'm on week two of DirecTV (former U-Verse customer)!

I have an interesting setup and am curious if it's possible to permanently disable DECA on my H24 and HR24. Here's my setup:

((H24----Switch----Wireless Bridge))-------Wireless Bridge----Switch----HR24

You're thinking "gasp! wireless??" Yes...it's 802.11n with channel bonding in the 5ghz spectrum and it works GREAT. I did that because I didn't have a Cat5/6 drop in that bedroom and it is too tight in the attic to drop in that corner. I'm happy to discuss the technical details of it with anyone who wants to know.

Now here's the issue. Everything contained in the (( ))'s above is in the bedroom. I turn the power off to all of this when not in use because it isn't used all that often, and it's all on the same power strip. When I turn everything on, because the switch takes a moment to boot and bring up the ethernet link, the H24 doesn't see it and uses DECA. Meanwhile the HR24 is using Ethernet so obviously this doesn't work. I end up having to power cycle the H24 after everything boots up to get it to re-sense the ethernet link. I've thought of putting the switch on it's own power source and always leaving it on, but I would really rather be able to turn off everything. So, is it possible to permanently disable the DECA feature so the receiver will not fallback to DECA in the absence of an Ethernet link?

I realize this is all unsupported, but I'm an engineer who likes to tinker and to me it isn't fun unless it's "not supported".

I know of no way to disable the internal DECA other than plugging an Ethernet cable into the receiver. I would just leave it on, can't use that much power. You should leave power to the receiver anyway so it can download software updates. Your other option would be getting something other than an H24 that doesn't have an internal DECA.
