I'm not getting any FTA channels, only paid channels.
Is it because maybe my switch is only delivering circular and not linear signals? (I'm a noob, remember)
I have an Invacom QPH-031 LNB on a 36" dish, SG2100 motor.
Would some combination of using the 3rd post (linear), on the LNB or using port 3 (or 4), on my switch have any benefit?
The reason I ask is I may have fried my switches as none of the manuals in my possession made any mention of NOT disconnecting or reconnecting wires while the power in the receiver was on.
I found that out later browsing in the forums.
(Could I have damaged my LNB?)
I have the original switch that came with my install package, (probably not great quality anyway), a new Digiwave 4x1 switch (never fried, just purchased locally), and an Axing SPU 41-02 switch (maybe fried, maybe not, I read somewhere these are quality switches not so easily damaged).
Or should I just buy a new EMP Centauri or a HD Chieta switch and start over?
I should mention I guess, that I have almost a 100' run of RG6 on this setup. Unavoidable.
I read somewhere that the Chieta switch is more forgiving of long wire runs.
Is this a fact?
Help!
