Hello, Just bought a sv-4000 reciever using with invacom qaud lnb. I'm sure my connectors are you correctly but i'm getting no signal. i read up that that means between the receiver and dish, but can' t find whats wrong.

I have search this and few other forums and couldn't find the information.

This is the only forum I have posted this question. I was reffered to you guys by the sales office of this equipment.

If there are other information you need please let me know and i'll post it as i am very new and still learning.

Does my receiver need config to it?

Thanks

moved to proper forum

Do you have a motor too?
How do you currently have the invacom hooked up to the receiver?
What have you tried already?

Hey, the motor is on its way arrives on friday.
yes the invacom is connected to the receive and i'm getting no signal. i'v got my location stats lat and long elevation azimuthand skew info.

I've tried reading up and i'm lost. i"v tried many things. hope that helps.

Thanks for the push. I got the signal but now quality is at 0 none. Any assistance?

Well I'm looking right at it and its 12. I'm very new at this could these satellite listings come standard with my sv4000 or when i did a bin up date. I don't have any tools so I'm doing the best i can with pointing the dish and looking for signals.

any recommendations on best way to find sat's

Pick Galaxy 10 R from the list. Galaxy 12 no longer exists.
Do you understand how to set uo the receiver?
Do you have your compass ready?
You are connected to the "L" port on the Invacom?

EDIT: Do you have your manual handy?

Yes I got that much its on the L which stands for lower.

receiver i believe so i've seen some the dish settings online and looking at G 10 R listed its preset to LNB single. LNB Frequency 10750 T 11720

no compass in had can i pick up one locally?

and my dish arrives on Friday will this make it easier for me?

I thought you had a Dish, I thought you said your "motor" arrives Fri.
The "L" stands for Linear.
If you have a store like Home Depot, pick up a Compass and Inclinometer.
You do have a clear view of the Southern Sky?
Go shopping tomorrow, read tomorrow night, package arrives fri.
Plan installation, google what you don't know, ask questions when you're stuck.

yup i have a dish. strange issue. dish arrive first and i'm using it. motor on friday.
will get the equipment tomorrow.

yes clear southern sky

have been googling and forums for a while now. will continue. thanks

L outputs are for Linear satellites (most Ku FTA satellites). Local Oscillator (L.O.) setting for the L outputs in the receiver is 10750. C outputs are for Circular satellites (DBS pay service satellites, not much FTA on those). L.O. for the C outputs is 11250. For now, I would run a cable directly from one of the L outputs on the Quad to your receiver. Select Galaxy 10R (G10R) at 123w, set your L.O. to 10750, transponder to 11720 or 11800, and aim your dish using this calculator:

ok

Cool, thank you for all the imput. Just got my dish today and installing the hardware (motor). Will be back with some Q A

thanks again

A little support

Ok yesterday and today I have installed the dish and receivers (not to confuse things i both 2 sv 4000 sv 360 elite). I also have been spending time reading up and i'm a little lost. maybe i should stay a way a few hours and then come back but i can stop.

I have One Ivacome dish which i have installed. I'm trying to read up on different postings but nothing similar to my issuse. And or just not understanding it. All my equipment has markings and trying to understand them. below is so of the issues: after my complete install I'm getting 65% signal and 0 quality.

On my LBN reads 10-30-50 to left and right. I'm assuming that its for east and west. ok got that. How do i know where to posistion this?

my dish says elevation and latitude. i got my lat and long and set it correctly on my dish the manual says : your site lat 28 elevation angle 62 declination angle 4.7 dish bracket angle 25.3 and i believe i set those correct as well.

the motor reads 10 thru 80 west and east and i got that to work with my receiver and i'm able to manually move it but isn't this suppost to work once i put in the information into dish settings, then it sound move on its own correct? anyways i'll wait for some information and stop writing i'm delirious.

Is your plan to have 2 receivers in 1 room, or 1 receiver in 2 rooms?

"On my LBN reads 10-30-50 to left and right. I'm assuming that its for east and west. ok got that. How do i know where to posistion this? "
Not for East / West it is for Skew, if a Motorized Dish - set to Zero. The movement of the Dish will Skew the LNB

What is your Long / Lat?

I plan to have 1 receiver in one room and the other in another room.

my long west 81.37 and lat north 28.53.

yes my dish is motorized.

A 2 room setup with Motorized will complicate things. You can only control a Motor with 1 Box at a time. You will have to use the "IF Out" port of the "Master" Box to feed the 2nd Box. Then when using the 2nd Box, the "Master" will have to be Off. Or you could use the "Master" to position the Dish for the second. But first, get one setup and add the 2nd later.

Where are you at in your setup?
Have you found your True South satellite yet?

installed dish motorized and receiver.
not sure if i did the install correct as far as elevation and lat, scale on the antenna (declination angle).

I'm getting between 60-78 signal from the list of sat's but zero quality.

no i haven't found my true south yet could you offer some info
