Hi there,
We have Ultimate, with HD DVR and 3 additional HD receivers and are only a couple months into our our new contract. We've decided we don't really need that third additional receiver. Is there a change of service fee or penalty for returning one of the receivers?
Thanks much!

Nope, they'll send you a recovery kit for the receiver and then you'll have to take it to UPS or FedEx. Just make sure they take that additional charge off your bill for the extra receiver

As long as you keep your programming commitment, you should be able to deactivate a receiver with no penalty.
DirecTV will send a recovery kit for the deactivated unit. If they don't get it within a reasonable amount of time you can be charged for it.

You will not have any penalties as long as you keep one receiver and monthly programming. After your 24 month commitment is over, you can cancel at any time and not have to pay a penalty.

If you send back a receiver and later on you want to add it back on, you will have a new 24 agreement.
