Hello all. I have been having problems peaking Slimlines in Arizona and Southern California. I do the normal dithering/peaking routine for Slimlines but still have transponders in the 80s, sometimes lower on 99/103, 101 is 97/98/100. I've done and redone the peaking and that's the best I can do, is this just what happens in the southwest? I would think that would cause issues on certain channels and that DirecTV would create more west feeds on transponders that are stronger down here. Thanks for any info.

to Satelliteguys!I have read that it's difficult to get much above 85 in some areas of the sw. Does Directv give you more lattitude regarding signal strength?

Are you an installer? Has this started happening recently? It may be related to equipment manufacturers.
Yes I am an installer, but I usually only install in the midwest/midsouth. I never had a problem peaking dishes until I came out here. I just use a Super Buddy meter and the regular routine, sometimes 2 or 3 times but still have transponders that are low. I have been told there is a meter by Sencore that will allow me to peak 99/103 better than the dithering routine, has anyone used this meter or heard of this?
I use an AIM to peak dishes. There is a newer swm lnb that's junk. The white casing over the front sticks out like its been filled with air. You can't run EIV at the dish or check swm channels either but the work when you're watching tv (no clue how). Anyways, these lnbs won't let the signals get above the mid 80's normally.
I'm not sure about the sencore meter, but the best meter for peaking (only) DirecTV is the AIM Meter by all reports.
